Images of INTERFET  

Finalist - 2000 - AIMIA (Australian Interactive Multimedia Industry Association) Award - Best Reference or Information Title or Site.

While managing an Australian Army project in 1999, Multilocus became aware of the plight of children orphaned by the violence in East Timor and wanted to do something to help.

We decided to produce a CD-ROM documenting the INTERFET experience in East Timor and to fund it from our own resources. Furthermore, we wanted all profits from sales of the CD-ROM to go the Salesian Missions, a Catholic relief agency, working with East Timorese orphans.

We named the CD-ROM Images of INTERFET. Images of INTERFET contains 68 minutes of video and 1025 searchable images recording the period from July 1999 to March 2000 in East Timor. The INTERFET Commander, Major General Peter Cosgrove, launched the CD in July 2000. Throughout the project, Multilocus worked with:

Around 18,000 copies of Images of INTERFET have been sold.

By the end of June 2001, Multilocus had donated a total of $64,000.00 to the Salesian Missions from the sale of Images of INTERFET.
